Features Review
Five Solitaires in One App
Known earlier as a kind of binary augury, solitaires are now a type of solo card games, and they’re still successful there. While the classical Microsoft solitaires were available separately, adding new ones in new Windows versions, this time they’re all available within one app. They are Freecell and Klondike from first Windows editions, Spider that came along later, and TriPeaks and Pyramid, relatively new ones. Each one has a brief tutorial available as you discover a new solitaire, and then later, in Settings. That’s why in this Microsoft Solitaire Collection review we’ll skip the rules.
The game is integrated with Xbox, and the score you get adds to your overall progress there. You just need to authorize with it in the game. There is also a new mission each day, with specific tasks within each solitaire, that makes the familiar gameplay vary a bit.

Appearance
Though the first impression is too shiny and glamorous, like in a cheap casino, the picture differs when it comes to playing. The background is colored moderately and provides a great contrast to the cards, easy to see. In some solitaires, the backgrounds and the cards fit especially well.
The collection features 10+ card designs and even more various backs. Some of them are available for free from the start, some can be unlocked for coins if you win enough. If you don’t, you can just buy missing coins.
The app shows ads sometimes, and it seems strange for those used to classical MS Solitaire. But this time it’s no more a tutorial for mouse beginners; it’s just an app for entertainment.
